Dear 5^th and 6^th grade parents,

As some of you may know, we have created a new space for children who will be entering the 5^th and 6^th grades during the next school year. We have seen in the past that this age group is “too cool” for Kid’s Club, but not quite ready for the structure/content used in CSM (junior high and high school ministry). In response to this, we have created “AREA 56”, which will be the 5^th and 6^th graders’ new classroom starting June 3^rd and 4^th, and are in the process of developing a new curriculum for them. Our hope is to create an atmosphere that is fun, relevant and current, while providing kids the ability to learn and question their beliefs in a safe environment.

As we bridge the gap between Kid’s Club and CSM, we plan to have periodic activities outside of Sunday services to allow the 5^th and 6^th graders to build better relationships with their peers and adult leaders. We would love for you to be a part of this! If any of you have suggestions for activities (i.e. serving opportunities, Bible study options, music) for this age group, we would welcome your input. We are also looking for parents who are willing to provide their homes to be used for small group Bible studies, swimming parties, pizza parties, etc. Finally, we are hoping to establish a parent prayer group who will be asked to pray specifically for the children and leaders in this group.
